1)How big is the EDS1?
The EDS1 is delivered in a box 1000x570x330mm. When assembled the EDS1 is 1070mm Long, 630mm wide and is 960mm from floor to the top of the seat (in it’s most upright position) and weighs aproximately 20kg.
2)What height users can fit in the EDS1?
The EDS1 was ultimately designed for Adult users of approximately 140-200cm tall.
3)What adjustment does the EDS1 have?
The seat on the EDS1 is capable of 190mm of sliding adjustment (back-forth) and is capable of adjusting the seat back angle. Slots provided for the G25 Pedals & Steering wheel allow each of those to be adjusted 70mm
4)Can the seat height be adjusted?
No, the seat height cannot be adjusted. But adjustment of the seat height is not necessary as the current position has been designed to simulate the cockpit position in a race car. Adjustment of this height would also effect the seat to pedals to steering wheel relationship that has been specifically designed into the EDS1 for optimum comfort and use.
5)Can pedal or steering wheel angle be adjusted?
These cannot be adjusted on the standard EDS1. But just like the seat height, steering wheel and pedal position have been specifically designed for optimum comfort and use and only sliding (back-forth) adjustment is normally necessary. However if you do prefer the feel of a inclinded pedal box then the Pedal Angle Adjuster kit can be purchased.
6)How difficult is it to assemble?
With a reasonable competence, the EDS1 can be assembled in under 1 hr. Assembly has been made as simple as possible with a minimum number of parts, simple construction & detailed & illustrated assembly instructions. Please read the instructions for more information
7)What wheel/pedal setups does it fit?
The EDS1 is specifically setup for the Logitech G25 as this unit is considered one of the best available. Hard mounting locations for the steering wheel, pedals & gear shifter are provided for the G25 along with the bolts. Steering wheel & pedal locations are slotted to allow positional adjustment of these G25 items. The EDS1 is not limited to the G25 and can accommodate nearly any driving wheel on the market. However new mount holes or the use of the standard clamps will be required for items other than the G25.
Update: Very soon we will have adaptor plates to suit the pedals of the Microsoft Wireless wheel, allowing it to be hard mounted to the EDS1. Check our home page for updates
8)How do I know if my wheel setup will fit?
For all steering wheel setups other than the Logitech G25 the following information will allow you to check if & how your wheel setup will fit on the EDS1. Firstly both upper and lower platforms/plates on the EDS1 home model are the same, so both contain the slotted mount positions for the G25 steering wheel & pedals. These slots have a width of 204 & 68mm respectively. Note: Pro base brackets only contain the wider of the slots. If your wheel/pedal setup is lucky enough to have mounting positions with either of these widths then you will be able to bolt it in straight away. If you unit has an alternate width for it's mounting then new holes will need to be drilled into the EDS1 plates. If your unit does not have any mount holes then you will be required to use the standard clamps provided with your setup. Please note that both upper & lower platform/plates on the EDS1 Home model are 3mm thick, if your clamps do not close to a suitable distance then a timber or other block will be required to make up the difference in thickness. Please also note that the bolts supplied for the mounting of the G25 are M6 thread and slots in the plates are approximately 6.5mm wide. For units with other threads you will require other bolts (not supplied with the EDS1).
9)How safe is it?
The EDS1 was designed with user safety in mind. All exposed nuts are covered with silicon caps as are the ends of all tubes. The drivers body weight & position also forms an integral structural component to the design both stiffening the frame and ensuring it's stability. With correct assembly & use the EDS1 is extremely safe
10)How durable is it?
Durability is requirement not an option on all ELITEPROS products. The EDS1 seat is a full automotive race seat designed for far more punishing environments than the EDS1 can present. The seats material is a synthetic leather giving the best possible wear characteristics against constantly getting in & out. The EDS1 frame is all steel in construction and is designed for loadings inline with the roughest driving technique. All surfaces are powder coated to protect against scratching & abrasion. To stabilise the EDS1 further the PRO bracket is now available, ensuring smooth control for even the toughest of drivers.
11)Can it be stored/moved and how?
As most households will not want a driving simulator setup all the time, the ability to easy move & store the EDS1 was incorporated. The EDS1 seat can slide & fold forward to minimise the overall unit size. This can then be stored in single or double cupboards or simply out of site next to the couch or table. Wheels have also been provided to make shifting the EDS1 simple. In it's folded state, simply lift the front of the EDS1 and wheel your unit to where ever you want with ease. Alternatively the simple construction of the EDS1 means it can be quickly disassembled and stored elsewhere and quickly re-assembled when the race season returns.

14)I'm interested in a frame only, what seats will fit on it?
The seat supplied with the EDS1 is a high quality full automotive synthetic leather race seat. This seat was selected because of it's quality construction, it's light weight, it's extremely comfortable seating position and it's durable material. It is understandable that some people may already have a seat that they would prefer to use with the EDS1 and this is why a frame only option is available. The seat used on the EDS1 has a mounting bolt pattern of 400mm wide and 280mm deep. 10mm holes are drilled in the EDS1 frame in such a position to optimise the seat location for a variety of user sizes. To use an alternative seat, your seat must either have the same mounting bolt pattern as described or you will need to make an adaptor plate or drill new location holes. 5/16" bolts, nuts and feet caps for seat mounting will be provided with frame only kits.
15)I don't fit in my EDS1 properly, is there a problem?
This is a common mistake made when pedal & steering wheel positions are not correct. Adjustment slots have been provided for the G25 steering wheel & pedals to allow users to fine tune the seating arrangement. To correctly setup your EDS1 we recommend starting with the steering wheel as far from you as possible and the pedals at the center of their adjustment. Ensure pedals have been mounted to the bottom plate of the EDS1 by only 2 screws and these screws are located in the pedal box mount positions that give the maximum leg reach. Adjust the seating position so your arms are at a comfortable distance from the wheel. Now check your leg length and if required shorten or lengthen the pedal position. If you have extended your pedal position as far as it goes and still find your leg length is too short begin to move the steering wheel closer & re-adjust your seating position. An optimum seating position will allow the driver to freely rotate the wheel approximately 270 degree without removing their hands, will allow the comfortable use of all 3 pedals and will not have the drivers knees tightly pressed against the top plate.
